Chan Family - New Buffalo Extended Family Photographer
Last summer‘s session with the Chan family at New Buffalo Beach was simply gorgeous! This extended family consisted of grandparents, and three families, including seven grandchildren.
As always, I met them and we started up in the beach grass for their sunrise session… We got photos of the family altogether, and then broke into smaller, immediate family groups to capture their families, siblings, kiddos individually, and parents as a couple. Of course, we had to get grandma and grandpa together as a couple as well, And also them with their original family, and their grandkids.
One thing I love about my extended family sessions is that we capture everything. Every combination you can think of is photographed, even the outlaws get a photo together sometimes. Sometimes we re-create old photos of siblings that are now grown up, which can be pretty hilarious too.
When we were done up in the beach grass, we headed down to the water for some photos that were a little more playful, and oh so beautiful. The littlest one of the group was about to celebrate his first birthday, and we had a few extra minutes so they asked if we could get a few extra photos of him. They turned out so cute, and I’m so glad they asked for me to take these photos!
Capturing extended family / family reunion sessions while large groups are all together while on vacation in beautiful New Buffalo, Lakeside, Union Pier, Michigan City, etc., etc. etc. (all of these locations are awesome!!) is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. These are memories that are so special, and so cherished by both me and my clients as well, obviously!
