Gavin contacted me hoping to find a photographer that could capture his proposal to his girlfriend while they were on vacation in beautiful New Buffalo, Michigan. I was thrilled to get this inquiry because I absolutely love capturing proposals!

When someone books a proposal with me, the next step is to plan out the big moment! I am part of this process to ensure that everything goes smoothly and we're on the same page. I chose a spot up in the beach grass that is beautifully lit at sunset and has the New Buffalo lighthouse in the background, and instructed Gavin on where to park and walk to get to the spot. I was set up with a blanket and a book, looking like I was just there to view the sunset as so many others come daily to do, and we turned on our location sharing settings. When Gavin and Katie arrived and got closer, I was ready for them!

They walked down the path a bit and he paused to grab her other hand. Mentioning sweet things to her, you could see that she had figured out what was happening, and she covered her face with her hands in shock. He got down on one knee and opened the engagement ring box, she looked down, and said YES! They kissed, he put the ring on her finger, and I cheered for them, revealing that I wasn't just there to watch the sunset ;) I introduced myself and hugged them both, and then we went on to take more photos!

When you book a proposal with me, your session includes not just the capture of the proposal, but also photos afterwards of the two of you around the area you've chosen for the big moment! We walked around the dunes and then headed down to the water for photos at Lake Michigan and over by the big rocks at New Buffalo beach.
